EPS rise 126%. Gross Margins hover at 60%. Professional Visualization business healthy. Datacenter growth explodes.
On the eve of the GTC, NVIDIA announced FY Q1 2018 results which showed remarkable year-on-year growth in their Datacenter business consisting of Virtualized Graphics, HPC computing, and AI.
The Pascal GPU architecture is important for professional workstation users with the power and performance for visualization and computing be it virtual reality, scientific computing, or VFX and video acceleration. The Px000 line of Quadro products can be found in desktop and mobile workstation platforms. With these workstations products on the market, PW can imagine continued strength in NVIDIA's $800 million professional visualization business.
NVIDIA announced agreements in autonomous driving during the quarter including a partnership with Bosch to create a self-driving car computer. Multiple mobile workstations were announced with more Pascal-based VR-Ready mobile workstations on the market.
The outlook for Q2 FY2018 includes a revenue target around $1.95 billion & gross margins should be approximately 58%.
